New MFA Requirement to access the CMS Enterprise Portal
Starting in early June , currently registered and new Marketplace agents and brokers will need to begin setting up and utilizing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) in order to access the CMS Enterprise Portal at https://portal.cms.gov .
This step is critical for users enrolling consumers through the Classic Direct Enrollment (DE) pathway. If you do not set up an MFA device, you will not be able to log in to HealthCare.gov after being redirected from a private website.

Prepare for Medicaid Unwinding:
PHE Ends March 31, 2023
|
|
|
During the COVID-19 pandemic, Congress passed legislation to ensure people would have access to health coverage and other benefits while the country was in a state of public health emergency (PHE). Millions of people who lost employer-sponsored coverage enrolled in Medicaid and have had continuous coverage the past few years.
When the PHE officially ends on March 31, 2023 people who have had Medicaid coverage will go through "Medicaid Unwinding", a state-run process to redetermine whether or not they’re still eligible for Medicaid.
As many as 15 million people will lose Medicaid coverage during the unwinding process, and almost 3 million of them will qualify for ACA Marketplace coverage. This is an opportunity for agents to build their book and enroll new customers in ACA plans during the Special Enrollment Period.

We would like to share with you this Research Report published in Dec. 2022*. This report does a nice job estimating the impact of Medicaid redeterminations.
- Approx $18M people gained Medicaid eligibility during COVID due to ARPA
- 65% of those people are expected to go to employer sponsored plans
- 25% will be uninsured
- 6-7% will enroll in individual ACA
- 1-2% will enroll in non ACA compliant plans

Extending Enhanced ACA Subsidies Through 2025
The U.S. Senate and House of Representatives have passed the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA), and President Biden has signed the bill into law.
Originally set to expire at the end of this year, the Inflation Reduction Act (IRA) extends the enhanced American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) ACA premium tax credit subsidies through 2025.
ARPA included temporary subsidy increases for health insurance, including larger ACA subsidies for individuals between 100—400% Federal Poverty Level (FPL) and expanded subsidy eligibility for individuals above 400% FPL.

Here's a FACT:
40% of Americans can't cover a $400 emergency expense.
If they can’t afford a $400 expense,
how can they cover a high-deductible plan?
Are you letting clients go elsewhere for Supplemental Health Plans?
Like most Americans, your clients have probably thought about the possible disastrous financial effects of fighting off a major disease or an accident and taking time off from work to recover. Offer your clients a choice of Supplemental Health Plans to help take care of bills that health plans don’t cover, help take care of financial needs in the event of a major illness, or help provide income in the aftermath of an injury.
