Selling Life and Supplemental Insurance Plans just got easier
Humana is constantly seeking out ways to make it easier for you to sell Humana products. They have heard your feedback regarding the application process for life and supplemental insurance plans, and they have worked to make this process more efficient and easier for you to know the status of your client’s application. The new enhancements will make the life and supplemental insurance plans application process consistent with the major medical plans application process. With the automation that has been introduced into the system, you should see a reduction in the amount of time it takes for an application to be received and approved, which means speedier compensation for new sales!
Additionally, you will begin to receive daily email notifications as the status (received, issued, declined) changes for all applications!
Note for Paper Applications with a Paper Check:
Paper applications with a paper check attached require manual system inputs; paper applications submitted with a paper check attached will be processed in a separate system and not within the new underwriting system. These applications will not have status notations on Agent Workbench; however, you will begin to receive daily email notifications as the status (received, issued, declined) changes for these applications.
***One other note—any business submitted prior to 1/28/12 will not show the correct status in AWB…it will still follow the old process.

Important Information Regarding the Sale of HumanaOne C550 Dental HMO Policies in West Virginia
We recently discovered that West Virginia has passed a law requiring a Certificate of Authority to sell certain individual dental products in your state. As a result, until Humana obtains the appropriate Certificate of Authority, sales of this product will be suspended.
Humana is actively pursuing the required certificate and we look forward to making this product available again as soon as possible. In the meantime, rest assured that Humana will honor any individual dental HMO policies already in force in West Virginia.
Our HumanaOne Preventive Plus Dental plan remains available for your customers as we work through this process.
